Conical Universal Air Filters
For conical filters, we mean the cone-shaped filters for direct intake; they can come in various sizes, shapes such as simple cone, double cone, and types of filtering materials such as foam or multiple layers of cotton. To properly choose the right filter, you must evaluate the available space, ensure that the filtering surface of the cone filter is never less than the original, position it if possible near a "fresh" air intake, and for installation, you will likely need flexible coupling pipes, support brackets, silicone sleeves, and any necessary rubber diameter reductions (already included in the Simoni Racing cone filter package).
Why install a cone filter:
Unlike panel filters, a cone filter is ideal for those who want a more sporty effect when opening the hood, and thanks to direct suction, it achieves a performance increase if well-positioned and obviously a much more sporty sound.
It is often asked if it is possible to switch from a panel filter to a cone filter on all cars. The answer is YES, as long as you have all the necessary equipment.
How to install a cone filter:
Open the engine compartment and locate the housing where it is usually found, which is typically a black plastic box.
Disconnect the tube connected to the engine.
Remove the box containing the original air filter.
Proceed with the installation of the cone filter and accessories such as sleeves and mounting brackets.
After doing this, close the hood and take a test drive to verify that the filter itself has remained firmly in its position within the engine compartment.
